EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST!

  • INHALATION
  • Cough. Sore throat.
    Local exhaust or breathing protection.
    Fresh air, rest.
  • SKIN

  • Protective gloves.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
  • EYES
  • Redness. Pain.
    Safety spectacles.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION

  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Give plenty of water to drink.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Sweep spilled substance into containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Wash away remainder with plenty of water (extra personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles).
    Dry. Well closed.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
    WHITE HYGROSCOPIC CRYSTALLINE POWDER.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic and corrosive fumes (sodium oxide). The solution in water is a weak base.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
    TLV not established.

    ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol.

    INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20C is negligible; a nuisance-causing concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the eyes and the respiratory tract.

    ENVIRONMENTAL
    DATA

    N O T E S
Health effects of exposure to the substance have been investigated, but none has been found. Mycoban is a trade name.
